JABARRE DAVIS

FILM DIRECTOR & CINEMATOGRAPHER

Jabarre Davis is an American director, writer, and cinematographer known for his distinct visual storytelling and dedication to his craft. Born in Chicago, IL, and raised in the small town of Crossett, Arkansas, Jabarre had limited access to art resources, which inspired him to begin writing short stories and plays as a child. His early passion for storytelling continued through high school drama, where he also performed in plays.

After graduating, Jabarre attended the University of Central Arkansas, where he honed his skills in theater and built lasting relationships that would shape his future career. Following college, he moved to Dallas, Texas, and initially worked in the mortgage industry. However, feeling disconnected from his creative aspirations, Jabarre made the bold decision to leave corporate America and pursue filmmaking full-time.

In 2015, Jabarre founded Boksvizual, LLC, a company dedicated to producing visually compelling content. Drawing inspiration from legendary filmmakers such as John Singleton, Stanley Kubrick, François Truffaut, Gordon Parks, Spike Lee, Orson Welles, and Jean-Luc Godard, Jabarre began developing his own unique filmmaking style.

His career took a significant turn in 2017 when he was given the opportunity to produce the documentary Jumping Jeff, which chronicles the life of Olympic gold medalist long jumper Jeff Henderson. Over the years, Jabarre has collaborated with major brands and networks, including ESPN, CBS Sports, Paramount+, and American Express. He also worked as assistant director on the Apple TV film Everything Is Both, starring Jason Mitchell (The Chi, Straight Outta Compton) and Barton Fitzpatrick (The Chi).

With a passion for creating engaging, thought-provoking content, Jabarre continues to push boundaries in the world of film and television, with several exciting projects currently underway.
